# Third Slip > thirdslip.app publishes live cricket scores, fixtures, competition tables and the ICC team rankings, and is the site of Third Slip, an iPhone app that shows live cricket scores on your Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, on Apple Watch and in CarPlay, updating ball by ball, so you can follow a match without unlocking your phone or opening the app. Scores, fixtures and tables are rendered into the page server-side and refreshed while play is happening, so the HTML a crawler reads carries the same scores a reader sees. There is no client-side data fetching for the first paint. Third Slip uses iOS Live Activities. A Live Activity is the live card iOS shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: it turns up when the match is on, updates ball by ball, and takes itself away when play is done. ## Coverage Test, ODI and Twenty20 cricket worldwide, men's and women's. International series such as the Ashes, and domestic competitions such as the Indian Premier League and the Big Bash League. In international cricket the competition is the format (Test, ODI, Twenty20 International) and the series is the tour, so a follow can be as broad as "every Test" or as narrow as one series. ## How lock-screen scores start - **Automatically** - turn on Automatic Live Activities for a team, a series, a competition or a season, and every match it covers starts one by itself when play begins. - **By hand** - open any match and start a Live Activity from the bolt at the top of the screen. - **Scheduled** - choose Start When Play Begins so the Live Activity is waiting on the Lock Screen at the first ball, which is what you want for a match starting overnight in your timezone. ## Test matches A Test is one match spread over about five days. Its Live Activity finishes at stumps and comes back for the next day's play rather than sitting on the Lock Screen overnight. Lunch, tea, bad light, rain and stumps are named as they happen, so a score that has stopped moving reads as a break rather than as a failure. ## What else the app does Full scorecards, ball-by-ball commentary, fixtures and results, competition tables, ICC team rankings by format, line-ups, and cricket news headlines credited to their publishers. Scores can be read wickets-first (4/212, the Australian and New Zealand convention) or runs-first (212/4); the setting carries through to the Lock Screen. Results can be shared as a card. ## Pricing Third Slip is free to use and almost everything in it is free for good: live scores, full scorecards, ball-by-ball commentary, fixtures, tables, ICC rankings and news. The only paid feature is Lock Screen Live Activities, and the first three of those are free too. After that, Third Slip Premium is US$9.99 a year or US$3.99 every three months at the base price, priced per country on the App Store (A$14.99 / A$6.99 in Australia, £9.99 / £3.99 in the United Kingdom, ₹399 / ₹159 in India). It renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time in App Store settings. Scores on this site are written wickets-first (`4/212`), the Australian and New Zealand convention, and are rewritten runs-first (`212/4`) for readers elsewhere. Overs read `58.2`, meaning fifty-eight overs and two balls, never a decimal fraction. ## Platforms iPhone, running iOS 27 or later. An Android version is on the way.
